Join SAVE and Alec Forshaw, former Head of Design and Conservation at Islington, on a guided walking tour of Angel’s streets, uncovering the stories behind its changing urban landscape. Visit the revitalised Anderson's Yard, the historic grounds of the former Royal Free Hospital, the Business Design Centre, and the former Post Office site on Upper Street, exploring how these spaces interact with the community and shape the area’s character. Part of LFA 2026, this tour looks at how small interventions and thoughtful design can transform overlooked spaces, strengthen connections, and reveal the everyday ways a city comes alive.

The tour takes place in Angel and involves walking along characterful streets and varied historic pavements. Where possible, we will aim to avoid steps and select the most accessible routes; however, some sections may include cobbles, gentle changes in level, or narrower passages typical of the area.

We recommend wearing comfortable footwear and being prepared for a range of surface conditions. There is limited parking nearby, so travelling by public transport is advised.

If you have any specific access requirements, you are very welcome to contact us in advance and we will be happy to advise and, where possible, accommodate your needs.
