This exhibition presents design research for an experimental, seaweed pavilion structure, exploring how biomaterials in architecture can respond to the climate crisis with lightness of material, weight, and environmental impact. Structures that are easily shipped and simple to assemble can empower communities to enrich and reenergise their public spaces, locally and across the city, enhancing a sense of ownership and belonging. The journey from student workshop in Loughborough to built installation in London will be displayed through 1:1 prototypes, material samples, process documentation, and films. The exhibition invites visitors to reconsider what sustainable, temporary, and collaborative architecture can be like.
