This guided walk explores how small, previously overlooked constrained sites can create meaningful belonging. Visiting a series of RDA Passivhaus and retrofit projects in East Dulwich, we will look at how backland plots, former garages and brownfield sites have been transformed into low energy homes that strengthen neighbourhood character. The tour will explore consultation, daylight and privacy strategies, material choices and how careful design can integrate new homes into existing streets. Rather than displacing communities, these projects show how sustainable development can repair, connect and quietly reinforce the fabric of the city.

This event is a guided outdoor walk. The route is approximately 2 hours with stops and will take place on a mix of pavements and public pathways. Parts of the route may include uneven surfaces, kerbs, or gentle inclines.
The walk will take place at a relaxed pace with regular stops for discussion. Participants should be comfortable standing and walking for the duration of the event.
There are no toilet facilities provided as part of the walk, but public facilities may be available along the route. Seating may be limited depending on the location.
