This event brings together Hackney-based charity Rising Tide Trust, architects and heritage consultants Donald Insall Associates and RC/YYC and engineers Max Fordham and Simple Works to facilitate a multi-disciplinary conversation about protecting heritage community spaces.

In the context of a government emphasis on growth and streamlined planning processes, concerns around gentrification and the need to protect existing, successful, community infrastructure remain pertinent. While there is policy to protect built fabric and encourage re-use and retrofit, safeguarding community use remains difficult to achieve, but one that is evermore relevant.
