The Bazalgette Mausoleum is a unique example of a site of highly personal remembrance belonging initially to one man and later to a family of strangers. Known for its association with Victorian civil engineer Sir Joseph Bazalgette, this building was initially built for another. John Anthony Rucker was the only person in his mausoleum for over 80 years. However, in 1886, the mausoleum was purchased from the Rucker estate and John Anthony Rucker was later joined by seven members of the Bazalgette family. This building poses many questions around heritage, belonging, and ownership.

Garden Hall is an accessible building and has step-free access to the main hall and toilet facilities. There is one free accessible parking space outside the church gate. Paid street parking is available nearby. Please do not park inside the church gate.
Please Note: The Bazalgette Mausoleum is in the churchyard and is not fully accessible. The pathway does not reach to the mausoleum and requires travelling over grass and around other graves.
