We are committed to ensuring LFA activity is as inclusive, representative, safe, sustainable and impactful as possible. Each year we work to support our partners and organisers to make this a reality.
It is a key moment to show the industry and the city what good inclusive activity looks and feels like, and how we can create activity that has positive impacts and legacy on our city, without damaging the planet.
Although the Festival is temporary, the strongest activities are those with an impact that goes beyond the month of June – whether through meaningful collaborations, conversations and creations, or the reuse and rehoming of materials and projects made within the month.
All LFA activity must:
- Be inclusive and representative of all Londoners
- Be safe and respectful environments
- Remove barriers to participation
- Avoid damage to the planet
- Leave a positive (and long-lasting) impact at the neighbourhood, city and/or industry scale

Please note:
- Activity is no longer accepted into the programme if the LFA team cannot understand the steps being taken in each of these areas. For example, answers such as the following are not acceptable and could result in not being approved into the LFA programme.
- “TBC”
- “There is no long-term impact”
- “Our venue is fully sustainable and accessible”
- “We’ve done events like this before”
- We understand how the above is achieved will look different for each activity, depending on activity type and size of activity or organisation. Therefore, every activity is reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Nevertheless, we believe that every organiser is able to take as may steps as they can to ensure the inclusivity, safety and positive impact of their Festival activity.
