From Westminster’s Middlesex Hospital to a row of empty shops in Poplar, Fitzrovia Noir CIC has built a reputation for innovative co-creation, focused on heritage learning engaging with local communities. There is no greater sense of belonging than revisiting a place of birth, so it is fitting that our site is a ship that was launched right here on the Lower Lea in 1890, only recently returning. SS Robin is the only coaster of its type still fully intact, now too delicate to be on the water, so elegantly supported by a vast bespoke pontoon, an engineering marvel in itself.

The workshop will take place on the pontoon at Trinity Buoy Wharf. Please note that access to the pontoon is not step-free and involves a gangway which may be steep depending on the tide. The surface may feel unstable underfoot.
Seating will be available throughout and participants may contribute verbally or in writing. The session will involve light movement around a floor-based map.
Accessible toilets are available on site; however, the pontoon itself may not be suitable for all mobility needs. Please contact us in advance to discuss specific access requirements so we can advise and support where possible.
