This year’s edition of PLATFORM presents the work of Simone Brewster, a designer whose practice plays with form, working across scales and disciplines, defying a quick categorisation. Exploring how design can talk about belonging, and cultural visibility, she employs a visual language that is architectural and sculptural, rich with material histories and layered with references from palaeolithic fertility deities to African diasporic traditions.

Brewster’s monographic display centres on the fluidity of her interdisciplinary practice. Visitors will see the range of her design practice, from jewellery and furniture to sculpted forms and public architecture. Display curator Hadeel Eltayeb will take the group on a journey, providing unique insights into her process of curating the show.
