Children explore various textures, getting used to different sensations, using their hands and fingers or even toes and feet! They can squelch gloop, splash water, splodge paint and much more.

Week 1: “This is Me” (Sensory & Safe Beginnings) We will focus on establishing a sense of safety and exploring personal touch.
Main Activity: Sensory Area. Cozy corner set up with soft cushions, tents, and tunnels, projected star lights and soft music, sensory bottles and fabrics.
Messy Table: Playdough People. Families make playdough together. Use it to create “mini-mes,” handprints, and personal shapes.

Week 2: “Where I Live” (Construction & Texture) We will be transitioning from the “self” to the physical home environment.
Main Activity: Junk Modelling Houses. Use recycled boxes, paint, and glitter to make your home.
Messy Table: Making “My Key”. Decorate cardboard keys to take home as a symbol of belonging.

Week 3: “Our Shared World” (Mapping & Collaboration) We will combine the individual “homes” into a collective community project.
Main Activity: The Large Floor Map. Lay out the tape roads and add building blocks, Lego or the houses created previously.
Messy Station: Road Tracks. Paint and toy cars to make tracks on the map’s roads. Add green spaces with sponges and leaves.

Week 4: “Exploring Together” (Liquid & Sensory Celebration) We will finish this week on a high-energy, sensory finale to celebrate the group’s sense of belonging.
Main Activity: The Great Gloopy Wash. Water play with coloured foam bubbles, cups, and bowls.
Messy Table: Gloopy Goop Trays. Use of cornflour “goop” for a fascinating tactile experience.
