How can architecture be worn? How can the body become a site for telling stories about place, identity, belonging and change?
Inspired by traditions and legacies of Carnival, where carefully constructed structures made from materials, frameworks, textures, colours, movement and performance are designed, built and inhabited, this workshop invites participants to create wearable ‘architectural’ objects and extensions of the body that explore and respond to the histories, narratives, aspirations and tensions that have shaped Brixton today.
Wear white and join us on the day where we will also build a ‘postcard atlas’ using montage and archival imagery on Danclair’s shopfront.”
