A walking tour to explore the City of London through the eyes of famous Georgian Architect, Sir John Soane

Whilst there is not much left of Sir John Soane’s architectural masterpieces, the City is a great place to explore the influences of this Georgian and Regency Architect and explore what it meant to belong to the City during this time.
Join me for an journey through the heart of the City of London where we will see some of the work undertaken by Soane’s mentor, George Dance the Younger; Soane's peers, the Adams Brothers; and we will meet one of Soane’s literary heroes.
Ending at The Bank of England, we consider if Nikolaus Pevsner’s views about the reconstruction of the Bank of England as "the greatest architectural crime" is right.

I will be standing outside the Art Gallery with a clear sign with the LFA Logo and the Name of the Walk. This is a good place to start as there are accessible toilets in the Art Gallery.

Whilst this is a walking tour as an accredited Green Badge Tour Guide I have been trained to ensure that the routes are as safe and accessible as possible.
Unfortunately there are instances where there are still no dropped kerbs at crossing points.
I always use controlled crossings where they are available.
I seek to find locations which are quiet to deliver my talks and have chosen a Friday to deliver the walk as this is generally a quieter day in the City.
I also cap the maximum number of attendees to 15 so that the group size is comfortable for all attendees.
