From the Thames to Eternity is a cultural placemaking project in the City of London that reimagines historic granite stones from the 19th-century River Thames wall at Victoria Embankment as new public seating near St Paul’s Cathedral. Repurposed as inclusive seating and an interpretive installation, the stones highlight London’s heritage of craftsmanship, architectural history, and sustainable material reuse, aligning with the LFA2026 theme of ‘belonging’.
‘If Stone Could Speak’ by Cheapside Business Alliance and the City of London Corporation is a complementary programme of expert-led workshops, walks, and tours, celebrating how built heritage and public space shape identity and community.
