The Inventive Vents walking tour explores the weird and wonderful ventilation shafts hidden within London’s streets, revealing how generations of rebuilding have shaped the city above and below ground.
It stems from a project led by Our Hut and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, to broaden understanding of London’s underground infrastructure — transport, sewerage and essential services — and the unseen systems that help the city breathe and healthily belong.
Moving from Blackfriars Station to Bank Station, the tour considers how shared infrastructure connects communities and creates a sense of belonging across the city.
