The government plans to build 1.5 million homes including seven new towns. Golden Lane Estate, built to bring key workers back to the City of London following the devastation of the second world war, showcases planning and design at its most creative. Designed by Chamberlin, Bon and Powell with Grade II and II* listings, Golden Lane shows how to create community in the heart of the City.
This tour and discussion will invite designers who live or who have worked on the estate to evaluate its relevance to current housing needs and to address issues of maintenance and climate emergency.

The centre has kitchen and toilet facilities on both floors, and is fully accessible. The event will take place on the ground floor. The tour will take place across public areas of the estate.
