The word ‘belonging’ means something different to everyone. This interactive installation invites participants to reflect on what belonging means to them, and to contribute to a growing collective expression of place, identity and connection.
Attendees are invited to write a word or short phrase onto a piece of reclaimed wood that captures their personal sense of belonging — from ‘community’ or ‘my street’ to ‘shared dog walks’, ‘the Queen’s Head pub’, or ‘yoga in the park’. These individual reflections come together to form a shared, evolving artwork that celebrates the diverse ways we connect to each other and to the places we inhabit.
The session is open to anyone interested in exploring ideas of community, identity and place. From local residents and creatives to those working across the built environment, it offers a simple but meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect, and contribute to a collective narrative of belonging.
All materials, including reclaimed wood and markers, will be provided, though participants are welcome to bring their own.

Due to building work we may not have a disability toilet. There are two in cafes 30m away.
Dogs are not allowed unless they are Assistance Dogs, and children must be kept under close supervision. It is a working building with artists on site and they must not be disturbed.
