The ArtPlay Pavilion makes an exception to its under-8s policy to host an open house (3-6pm) and after-work tour (6:30-8pm) led by architects Carmody Graorke. Making use of June's long daylight hours, the event gives visitors the chance to see the Pavilion as it enters its first Summer within Dulwich Picture Gallery’s newly landscaped garden and Sculpture Meadow.
In this casual walk-and-talk, the architects give insight into how they approached designing a space specifically for children to explore, discover, and create, opening up the strict code of conduct we typically expect from an institutional setting.

The ArtPlay Pavilion is located in the gardens of Dulwich Picture Gallery, accessible via the main entrance on College Road. Please note that neither West Dulwich nor North Dulwich railway stations have step-free access.

There is a covered buggy park outside the Pavilion. Buggies are left at owners risk.
There is step-free access throughout the Gallery, gardens and Pavilion. Please note, however, that neither West Dulwich nor North Dulwich railway stations have step-free access.
Accessible toilets with changing facilities are located in the Pavilion and the main gallery cloister. Food and drink can be purchased from the Pavilion’s on site canteen and the Gallery’s café. No food and drink is allowed inside the ArtPlay play area.
Four disabled parking bays are available on Gallery Road. More disabled spaces are available in nearby Dulwich Park, just opposite the entrance on College Road. Parking is free for Blue Badge holders.
