Tour

Join us for a thought-provoking walk through the South Kensington Culture Quarter, a beloved historic neighbourhood full architecture, science, art and innovation - and hear how institutions here are tackling the climate and biodiversity crisis together.

We'll explore some unexpected refuges for biodiversity and learn about the myriad benefits that come with building nature back into our cities, including climate reslience, enhanced wellbeing and belonging. It's a chance for anyone, young or old, to see South Ken through a new lens and think about how we work together to support urban nature and build resilience in a rapidly changing climate.

Location

North Entrance of South Ken Tube station (Thurloe Street)

39 Thurloe Street
SW7 2LQ

Nearest station:
South Kensington

Accessible toilet
Changing places toilet
Gender neutral toilet
Level access, with some step(s)
Quiet space (outside)

We will be walking through a busy tourist area, crossing roads (whilst obeying traffic rules) and passing between public realm and private spaces. We've done this tour with people in wheelchairs, small children and people with sight-impairment, so have a good understanding of how to make the experience accessible to the maximum number. The route is level-access and suitable for people with whalking and/or wheeling. Whilst we can't predict when the route might have to change, we will seek to ensure that all new/alternative routes are also level access.
Something we cannot avoid is the fact that South Ken Station itself is not level-access (yet!!), but nearby stations are.
