Join ornithological investigator J D Swann for a summer walk around Birchmere Lake, Old Golf Course and TUMP 39. The walk encompasses diverse habitats and urban ecologies, and observes birdlife and other animals whilst travelling through marshes and woodland. J D encourages participants to document nature encountered through devices such as digital cameras, phones and sound recorders. Participants will experience how the original marshland has been altered since Thamesmead was constructed in 1968 and what evidence remains. At the start, a notebook will be given to each walker for their notation.
