Belonging is shaped by the places we share and the stories we carry with us. At Down Lane Park and Wingspan Walk, the community has played a central role in shaping both the regeneration of the park and the design of 272 new council homes. The Wingspan Project, led by artist Liz Hingley, explored the journeys of migratory birds and local children, reminding us that many paths—personal, cultural and environmental—meet here in Tottenham Hale.
For the London Festival of Architecture, we are inviting residents and neighbours to share what belonging means to them today. Through short conversations in the park, we hope to learn how the new homes, improved green spaces and evolving neighbourhood influence people’s sense of connection, comfort and community. These reflections will help us continue understanding how design can support people in making a place their own.
