At Newham Council we have embarked on an ambitious estate regeneration at Canning Town that will provide up to 1300 homes. It will bring together the existing community - who we’ve provided pathways to stay within the area and community - with those moving into the area and establish a new tight knit community.
 
To this end Newham, with the guidance and support of a Jestico + Whiles-led consortium of specialists in masterplanning and architecture, have undertaken years of co-design with the community to create a scheme we believe will bring everyone together and create a neighbourhood residents can be proud of.
 
Following an introductory presentation by Jestico + Whiles, attendees will be taken on a site visit to the first phase of the masterplan, featuring 147 new Passivhaus affordable homes and a community centre. The tour will then conclude with a talk from our meanwhile operator, Make:good and the opportunity to meet some local residents working with us to shape these plans. We welcome both residents and professionals to attend this event.
