A guided walk through South London uncovering fruit trees rooted in stories of migration, community and belonging.

Join us on a Fruity Walk where fruit trees carry the histories of those who planted them, immigrants and communities who made this city their own.
Starting at Old Paradise Gardens, we'll finish at the Imperial War Museum\'s orchard, where persimmons, olives, figs and more were planted to represent every nationality of children at a local school, and discover an avocado tree planted by a Jamaican Londoner whose roots go back to the Windrush. Through tree identification, mindfulness and storytelling, we'll explore how tending green spaces is an act of collective care and belonging.
Led by Divya Hariramani Herrero, an urban fruit tree forager and Renewable Energy Consultant working on the built environment while running Fruity Walks on the side, this walk invites you to listen, learn, and help reimagine London’s future—one fruit tree at a time.

This event is an outdoor walk through South London, with stops at quiet green spaces along the way. Toilets will be available at both the nearby Imperial War Museum and The Garden Museum. The walk is relaxed, taking you through streets and parks, with plenty of opportunities to pause and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Due to the walk path not being level access throughout, i’d not be comfortable saying it is accessible to disabled and wheelchair users.
