London Festival of Architecture, in collaboration with Architecture LGBT+ and Freehold, participated in the 2025 edition of Pride in London by activating Proudspeaker, the winning entry of the 2025 Pride Float Competition, designed by oo office. Responding to LFA2025’s theme, Voices, the project celebrated LGBTQIA+ visibility and amplified voices from across the built environment community.

Float for Pride in London Parade

Selected through an open design competition, Proudspeaker reimagined the Pride float as a sculptural and spatial intervention—conceived not only as a vehicle for movement, but as a mobile monument to queer resilience and collective voice. Designed by London-based practice oo office, the project drew on the form of a monumental megaphone to bring together individual stories and experiences, described by the designers as a “collective exhale” in the public realm.

Delivered as part of the Pride in London Parade, the float moved through the city as a platform for visibility, protest, and celebration. Around 200 participants joined the procession on and around the float, alongside supporters Brookfield Properties, Eastern City BID, and London & Partners.

Through collaboration with Architecture LGBT+ and Freehold, the project highlighted the role of architecture and design in creating spaces for representation, solidarity, and belonging, both within the built environment profession and in the city at large.
