Join Battersea poet and local history expert Hilaire for a fascinating walk around Nine Elms’ side streets. We’ll uncover stories that celebrate the area’s rich history and resilient community: the fight to save a cherished children’s farm, now replaced by new developments; tales of a former boozer where locals rubbed shoulders with rock stars; gripping first-hand accounts of World War Two bombings; and the continuing positive impact of grassroots campaigners. The walk is an opportunity to reflect on the stories that shape a community’s identity, and what it means to belong in a place that is constantly evolving.
